How does business coaching work?
Coaching evolved from a management style to a separate identifiable profession over twenty years ago. Today, there are thousands of professionals using the term “coach” to help tens of thousands of people to improve their lives. The vast majority of coaches in practice today concentrate on working with individuals to improve their personal lives. These coaches are typically called “personal coaches.”
“Business coaching” takes many of the lessons learned from the successes of personal coaching and applies them to help business owners and decision makers make their companies more successful. In addition to helping the person, the business coach is an expert in various areas of business. While coaches may have backgrounds in various business fields, a good business coach is a skilled mentor many areas as a result of personal experience, training and years of coaching. Therefore, the combination of expert business advice along with personal training, provides the business owner with not only the knowledge of “what to do,” but also development of the ability and mindset to actually perform the required tasks.
My role as your Coach is to be your trusted advisor
I will never tell you what you “should” do. It’s your business and you get to decide what to do. I’ll provide feedback, perspective, and ask questions to help you explore your options. You are practical and your time is valuable, you need to know what strategies to implement, if not you would be already doing them! I’ll move from coach, to consultant to mentor when necessary so you get what you need.

The initial areas of concentration will be dependent on the results of the initial Business Effectiveness Evaluation for Small Business. This is the clarity piece.
While there are often many areas of opportunity and frustration, with the help of your Coach a list of priorities is created. This is where the initial focus will be. At our first meeting, we will go over the assessment and create a 90 day and 1 year strategy plan. This way we can make the most efficient use of our time and get the fastest results for you.
The focus could be on a few fundamental areas – reviewing your mission, vision and values, following or refreshing your business plan, creating a marketing system that drives predictable income, creating a sales system that converts prospects into customers, creating a customer service system that keeps them coming back, and financial management to ensure profitability. In addition, you may wish to focus on success mindset strategies so that you can get out of your own way.
Once you are clear on the key areas of concentration an action strategy plan is put in place.
Ongoing accountability with your Coach will ensure you the take immediate on the right action steps. Continuous assessing of progress and priorities occurs to ensure that what truly needs to be worked on at that time is what is being addressed.
You will get one-on-one, personalized coaching on whatever your areas of concentration are: time management, goal setting, planning, sales and marketing, business systems, team management or success mindset strategies.

Coaching rates for small business owners start at just $1250 per month for two sessions.
